In 1937, "Strength through Joy" City was established at the northern edge of the Party Rally Grounds. The National Socialists raised a number of large wooden buildings here for their "Strength through Joy" organization. Visitors to the Party Rallies were entertained here with folklore-oriented events, variety shows and other carnival-like amusements. "Strength through Joy" City burned down in an air raid in 1942.
