Art Collections

The City of Nuremberg's Art Collections are among the oldest and largest municipal art holdings in German-speaking Europe. They comprise the Painting and Sculpture Collection, the extensive Nuremberg Municipal Art History Collections, and the Graphics Collection. In addition to a rich portrait collection and a large assembly of coins and medallions, furniture, gold work and scientific instruments, the collections also include a broad range of graphics works from artists who worked in Nuremberg from the 16th century to the present.

A sensational donation to the Art Collections

In 2016 the Art Collections of the City of Nuremberg received one of the most important gifts in their history: Karl Diehl's Dürer collection.
