Using cookies

The Nuremberg Municipal Museum sites use cookies. But you can visit all our sites without limitation even if you do not accept cookies. You will receive a special notification if a remote service involves the use of obligatory cookies.

Using links

The online services of the Nuremberg Municipal Museums use links to provide access to outside websites. These external sites reside in their own domains on third-party servers. Their contents are the responsibility of the sites' own operators.

The Nuremberg Municipal Museums offer the opportunity to use external content via links, under the terms of Sec. 9 of the German Remote Services Act (Teledienstegesetz). The party responsible for this "third party" content is not the Nuremberg Municipal Museums, but the operator of the external site concerned. The connection to the linked domain – in other words, the transfer of the information published there – is not initiated by the Nuremberg Municipal Museums, nor is any such content chosen or altered by the Nuremberg Municipal Museums. The Nuremberg Municipal Museums have no influence over who actually visits linked external websites.

The visiting and linking method does not cause any automatic, short-term buffer storage of this "external information," so that this too does not entail any responsibility on the part of the Nuremberg Municipal Museums.

Before establishing a link to external websites on our own sites, we check whether the content of the other sites might result in liability under civil or criminal law.

Abbreviation of links

In some cases, the Nuremberg Municipal Museums use abbreviated links in the format "http://go.nuernberg.de/[...]". When you click these links, they are decrypted on the city’s server and you will be forwarded to the associated destination address. Some of these destination addresses may be outside the city’s own web services. If you would like to know exactly what the destination address will be before you click, you can set an option for this to be displayed on the "http://go.nuernberg.de" website.

Transmitting data via email

If you send an email to the Nuremberg Municipal Museums, the data and content associated with the email will be used solely to correspond with you. Emails and the associated data and content are deleted as soon as they are no longer needed to handle the matters lying within the sphere of responsibility of the Nuremberg Municipal Museums.

Forms and online services

In general, you can use the web services offered by the Nuremberg Municipal Museums without having your personal data collected. But there are also occasions where you may enter personal or business data when using our electronic forms or online services. In these cases, only the data needed for processing are collected. The data are not used for any other purpose and are not disclosed to others unless we are required to do so by law. Personal data are deleted as prescribed by law. Each of these services has a data privacy policy that contains detailed information, including the office in charge, the purpose and legal basis for processing, data transfer, the data storage period, data subjects' rights, necessity of data storage and your options to object.

Anonymized analysis of visitor data

The websites of the Nuremberg Municipal Museums use the Matomo web analysis service software (formerly known as Piwik) to process data on the basis of our legitimate interest in the statistical analysis of user behavior for the purpose of optimization and marketing, in accordance with Article 6(1) of the GDPR. Anonymized use profiles may be prepared and analyzed from these data for the same purpose. Cookies may be used in this connection. Cookies are small text files that are stored locally in your web browser's buffer. Among the other purposes they serve, they also make it possible to recognize your web browser. The gathered data (including your anonymized IP address) are processed on our servers; no data are transmitted to third parties (such as the maker of Matomo). The information in the anonymized user profile that the cookie generates is not used to identify visitors to this website personally, or combined with personal data about the person represented by a pseudonym.

If you do not consent for these data from your visit to be stored and analyzed, you can refuse this processing at any time at the click of a mouse below (Sec. 13(1) and Sec. 15(3) of the German Telemedia Act (Telemediengesetz)). In that case, an opt-out cookie will be set on your browser, with the consequence that Matomo will not gather any session data. Please note that if you delete all your cookies at some point, that will also delete the Matomo opt-out cookie, so that you will have to reactivate it.
