Questions about your exhibition visit

Under the current Bavarian Infection Prevention Regulation, the following rules apply to museums:

Compliance with 3G, 2G and 2Gplus rules is no longer mandatory, nor is documentation of vaccination, recovery or tested status.

Wearing a mask is voluntary, but is still recommended.
We also still encourage you to maintain social distancing of at least 1.5 meters (5 feet).
While visiting the museum, please don't forget to comply with the same hygiene rules that apply everywhere.

If you feel ill, or have had contact with someone with a case of COVID-19, please be considerate of the need for general protection against this infection and cancel or reschedule your plans to visit a museum.

You can use the following methods of payment:

  • Cash
  • Girocard
  • Credit Cards: VISA, VISA Electron, Maestro

You should set aside 30 minutes for the "Crown – Power – History" segment of the exhibition. It will give you a general view of Nuremberg's history, and can also be visited separately from the rest of the exhibition for a lower admission price.
A full tour of the museum will take roughly 1½ to 2½ hours.

Advance reservations are recommended but not necessary:
Tel. +49 (0)911 231 - 1 04 50 or +49 (0)911 231 - 25 95

There is an unattended cloakroom with small lockers in the lobby area on the ground floor. The lock requires a 1-euro coin, which will be returned after use.

According to our statutes, dogs – with the exception of guide dogs for the blind – are not permitted in any of the Nuremberg Municipal Museums.

There are other cafes and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

Regrettably, because of its inner-city location, the museum has no parking area of its own next to the building.
There are a few public parking spaces in front of the museum; you will need to pay for a paper chit. There are also two handicap parking spaces.
The Parkhaus Hauptmarkt garage, with 525 spaces, is a few minutes away by foot. It is open continuously seven days a week.
