Exhibition
16 April to 2 August 2026

The sculptor Claudia Endres, born in 1956 in Altdorf near Nuremberg, received her initial artistic training at the School of Wood Sculpture in Bischofsheim/Rhön. In 1982, she began her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg in the class of Prof. Christian Höpfner. In 1987, she was named a master student.

Since the early 1990s, Claudia Endres has devoted herself almost exclusively to working with stone. Through her meticulous working method, she has developed a distinctive style that sets her apart: her “core-drilling sculptures,” carved from extremely hard rock with great physical effort, are unique on the German art market. She has received numerous awards for this work, including the BBK Debutant Prize, the Middle Franconia District Sponsorship Award, and a grant from the Free State of Bavaria.

To mark the artist's 70th birthday, the Museum Tucher Mansion is dedicating a major solo exhibition to her, featuring 26 works on the museum's outdoor grounds. In contrast to the green setting of the Renaissance garden and the picturesque sandstone architecture of Tucherschloss, her – at least superficially – non-representational "core-drilling sculptures" made of the blue Brazilian quartzite "Azul do Macaubas" will be particularly striking.
