JFK: his initials are the sound of an era, evoking the rhythm of the 50’s and 60’s American lifestyle. Accompanying an exhibition about the life and times of this young, vital and iconic president, which is shown at the German-American Institute until the 23rd of March, this evening will present some of his favorite tunes as well as classics from the era he lived in. Julie, originally from London, and her renowned musicians playfully arrange songs which cover the span from glamourous Marilyn Monroe, jazzy Ella Fitzgerald, and entertaining Sinatra to wistful Skeeter Davis. They really dig into using their mix of instruments to rearrange and modernize the sound at the same time taking you aback.
