To demonstrate how deeply the population supports the regime, the Party Rally organizers push for the highest possible numbers of participants and visitors. All National Socialist party units are represented at the Rally. Many of the visitors attend on their own initiative. Participants from among the SA and SS, the Reich Labor Service, the Hitler Youth, the League of German Girls, and the Wehrmacht are selected to fit National Socialist ideals of appearance.
Along with the official participants, hundreds of thousands of other visitors come to Nuremberg. They participate in the events as spectators, experience the bustle in the Old Town, relax at the folk festival and (from 1937 on) in "Strength through Joy City." The Nazi Party Rally Grounds, together with the parades and musters, are commemorated in a considerable number of private photos.
