A different kind of history – a lecture competition between scientists to win the audience's favour.
Thursday, 20 November 2025, 7:30 p.m.
The historic event of the first international criminal tribunal in which leading figures of a state where sentenced for crimes against peace, war crimes and crimes against humanity has many facets. It was a means of occupation policy, a breakthrough in legal history and at the same time a diplomatic masterpiece in view of the differing interests of the Allied powers.
The trial documented the criminal history of Nazi Germany and its allies very quickly after the end of the war and with astonishing accuracy. For the first time, there was in simultaneous translation into four languages for such a large-scale event. The trial was also a superlative global media event. As a result, it not only attracted the attention of the global public, but has also been recognised by many scientific disciplines for 80 years now.
In the History Slam, this historic event will be scrutinised in a generally understandable and entertaining way by various scientists on its 80th anniversary.
This event will be held in German.
